On the streets of Paris in 2012, I began reselling sneakers. Not for the hustle, but for the sheer love of sneaker culture. I remember how it felt opening my first pair of Nike Cortez in the second grade. The fresh smell of the soles and that clean white swoosh — I’ll never forget it. Throughout that school year, keeping those iconic kicks looking as fresh as the day I opened the box was my credo.  Soon, I found my way from Paris to New York. My love for New York City, hip hop, and sneakers had always been there — listening to the stories of my uncles who’d traveled to NYC and watching the old ‘80s and ‘90s classics with this great city as its backdrop. Hip hop’s influence on me was strong, listening to Mobb, Biggie, NAS, though not entirely understanding their references… but I forget it’s about the shoes, not my love for New York. Then, like a dream, this one line kept coming back to me. It takes one to know one .It takes one to know one who truly. Gets it. Who gets turnt up to find the pair of grails, the pair that got away, the pair they never knew they needed. It was at that moment Sneaks NYC was born.  With other big players on the scene, we took our time to pinpoint what was missing from the reselling world. We built a platform to truly benefit our community of hustlers. Sneaks NYC gives ratings and reviews straight from the people within the community. The people who know the sneaker game and share in those life experiences we all know so well, like my Nike Cortez way back when.
